A gold-plated commemorative coin is a 40 mm die-struck coin with a milled edge, made from your artwork in a custom die. One side carries the company emblem or headquarters in raised relief, and the reverse marks the milestone, such as 10 years of service or a company anniversary. Each coin sits in a clear capsule inside a velvet case, so it is never handled directly.
Why a commemorative coin suits service recognition
A coin is small, valuable-looking and easy to keep, which suits mid-tier service milestones and company anniversaries. Government entities, oil and gas companies and family businesses in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Dhahran and Kuwait City mint coins to mark 10, 15 or 20 years of service, or a company jubilee where every long-serving employee receives one. Gold, silver and bronze finishes can separate tiers. See the full range of long-service gifts and other awards and recognition gifts.
Minting and personalisation
The coin is struck from a die made for your design.
- [Raised relief striking](/branding/debossing-embossing) gives sharp detail for emblems, buildings and Arabic calligraphy on both sides.
- Laser engraving on a plain area of the reverse adds the recipient's name or number.
- Options include enamel colour fill, an antique finish and numbered limited editions.
We send a 2D design proof of both sides for approval before the die is made.
Presentation and planning
The velvet case comes in navy, black or burgundy with a foil-stamped logo on the lid and an optional certificate of the milestone. Coins are often presented at long service and retirement ceremonies and national occasions such as Saudi Founding Day. Because a die is made, plan early. Frequently asked questions
Is the coin solid gold?
No. The coin is struck in brass or zinc alloy and electroplated in gold or silver. Solid silver or gold-content coins can be quoted on request for very small runs.
Can each coin carry the recipient's name?
Yes. A plain area on the reverse can be laser engraved with each name or a serial number. This is done after minting, and every name appears in the proof.
Can we reuse the die next year?
Yes. The die is kept for your future orders, so later runs for new recipients or anniversaries usually avoid a new die cost, unless the design changes. Terms are confirmed in the quote.
