How it works

How screen printing works

Screen printing pushes ink through a fine mesh stencil onto the product, one colour at a time. Each colour in your logo gets its own screen, which is made from your artwork, and the ink is pressed through with a squeegee before it is cured with heat or left to dry, depending on the ink type. Flat items such as tote bags and T-shirts are printed on a flat press, while bottles and other cylindrical items can be printed on a rotary setup that turns the item under the screen.

Where screen printing works best

The method gives bold, opaque, solid colour, which makes it a strong choice for T-shirts and polos, cotton and jute bags, plastic pens and many water bottles. Because every colour needs its own screen, the setup work is similar whether you print a small batch or several thousand pieces, so it is most economical on larger runs of one design. That suits conferences and exhibitions in Dubai, Riyadh and Doha, where teams order matching giveaways in volume.

Artwork, colours and durability

  • Artwork: a vector file (AI, EPS or PDF) with fonts outlined, including any Arabic text.
  • Colours: give Pantone references so inks can be mixed to match. Fewer colours mean fewer screens.
  • Detail: photos and soft gradients are hard to reproduce; halftones help but have limits.
  • Durability: properly cured ink on cotton withstands many washes, and on hard surfaces it resists normal handling.

If your design is photographic or uses many colours, full-colour digital print or heat transfer for small batches may suit better. Every order starts with a free digital mock-up, and MOQ and lead time are shown on each product and confirmed in the quote. Send your screen printing request with your logo and quantities.

Frequently asked questions

How many colours can you screen print on a tote bag or T-shirt?

Multi-colour designs are possible, but each colour needs its own screen and its own print pass, so one or two colours is the most common choice for promotional runs. The number of colours is also limited by the print area and the item. We review your logo and suggest a version that prints cleanly before you approve the mock-up.

Can you match our exact brand colours?

Screen printing inks are mixed to Pantone references, so it is one of the best methods for close spot-colour matching. Results can vary slightly with the base material: the same ink looks different on natural jute, white cotton and coloured fabric. A white underbase is often printed first on dark textiles so the colour stays bright.

Is screen printing worth it for a small order?

Because a screen is prepared for every colour, screen printing is most efficient for larger quantities of one design. For small runs a one-colour print can still work well, or heat transfer and digital print may be more practical. The MOQ for each product is shown on its page and confirmed in your quote, and our team can compare the options for you.

Will the print wash out of branded T-shirts?

When the ink is cured correctly, screen printing is one of the most wash-durable decorations for cotton garments. Washing inside out in cool water and not ironing directly on the print helps it last longer. We can include simple care instructions with staff and event T-shirts delivered across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC.
